Mark Falkin: attorney@law

Mark Falkin co-founded the Dallas law firm of Falkin & O'Toole, L.L.P. in 1997. After three years of general practice, Mark started his solo entertainment, intellectual property and small business boutique practice. In the summer of 2002, Mark moved his practice to Austin, the self-described Live Music Capital of the World. In April 2004, he merged with Dallas attorney-musician Deck Sachse to create what would become Falkin + Sachse, PLLC. In March 2006- to further service clients in entertainment and the "creative class" businesses the firm has come to represent- the firm opened a satellite office in Seattle, where attorney and venture capital specialist Dori Karjian is of counsel to the firm.

Mark received his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, taking his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Meadows School of the Arts in 1993. He received his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1996. He is licensed to practice law in Texas courts and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Mark has substantial experience in representing businesses and individuals in litigation, transactions and as counsel in entertainment, intellectual property (concentrating in the areas of trademark and copyright), cyber, start-up/small business and employment law matters. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He is also a writer and at one time he was in a little rock band that probably could but didn't. He grew up in Tulsa, is married to his college sweetheart and lives in central Austin with his family.
